  1. Consult & labs

We review your history, medications, and goals — with lab work where it's useful — so the plan starts from facts, not guesses.

  2. A plan that fits your life

Realistic targets, practical nutrition guidance, and movement you'll actually do — built with you, not handed to you.

  3. Ongoing support

Regular check-ins to track progress, adjust the plan, and keep you accountable — because the follow-through is the program.

About us

Care rooted in this community

Muhammad A. Zubairi, APRN — founder and Chief Medical Officer of Family Care of Hartford
Muhammad A. Zubairi, APRN Founder & Chief Medical Officer
"I founded Family Care of Hartford to give people high-quality health care without long wait times or inconvenient hours — the care they deserve."

Family Care of Hartford provides high-quality, compassionate care to families across the Greater Hartford region. We treat non-life-threatening injuries and illnesses and provide routine preventive care, from physical exams to vaccinations — so you don't have to choose between a long ER wait and going without care.

The clinic is led by Muhammad A. Zubairi, a board-certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse. He trained as a physician in Pakistan, where he completed residency training in medicine, surgery, and pulmonology, and has since built his career across U.S. hospitals, nursing homes, primary care, and urgent care clinics. That breadth of experience shapes how the clinic works: care that keeps up with the real, changing needs of our community.

Alongside caring for patients, he mentors physician assistants, APRNs, and future medical students.

I've used Family Care several times and couldn't be happier — a rapid COVID test done in under 15 minutes, a splint when my daughter jammed her finger at volleyball, and a PCR test for international travel. Clean, prompt, and professional.

Common questions

Before you come in

Appointments are preferred — calling ahead at 860-947-4400 usually helps keep your wait shorter. Walk-ins are welcome during open hours based on availability, and same-day appointments are often available.

We accept CT Husky (Medicaid), Medicare, and most major insurance plans. If you're not sure about your coverage, call the office before your visit and we'll check for you.

Yes — we perform DOT, school, sports, employment, and immigration physicals. Most paperwork can be completed during your visit, although some services may require testing or follow-up. Calling ahead is the fastest way to confirm what you need to bring.

We're closed Sundays, for a midday break from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on weekdays, and on major holidays, including Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. The "Today's schedule" card shows our regular weekly hours; please call to confirm holiday or temporary closures.

It's the same medication used for a medical purpose: Botox is FDA-approved to treat severe underarm sweating (axillary hyperhidrosis) when clinical antiperspirants aren't enough. Because it treats a medical condition, insurance may cover it — bring your card and we'll help you check. Relief typically lasts several months per treatment.

Every aesthetic treatment starts with an in-person consultation — we talk through what you want, confirm you're a good candidate, and only then discuss pricing for your specific plan. No pressure, no packages pushed on you. Call 860-947-4400 to book one.
